National STEM challenge final.

In June 2022, Ethan, Ben and Isabel won the regional STEM challenge competition in Lincoln. This allowed them to progress to the school at National Final of the STEM challenge.

The final began with a trip to Huddersfield University, upon arrival the students were met by the organiser and given an introduction to the activity for the day. The main challenge was to program a Lego Mindstorms Robot to navigate a maze. Both Ethan and Ben regularly attend the Lego Club and found the challenge straight forward and were able to achieve a successful navigation of the board. Isabel quickly learnt how to program the robot having never done so before.

At the presentation, the team were awarded second place in the UK. The judges explained that it was a difficult choice and the top three places were very difficult to separate.

Congratulations to Ben, Ethan and Isabel for the hard work and the success on the day.
