Safeguarding

Safeguarding Statement

At The Deeping School, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is our highest priority. We are fully committed to ensuring that all students feel safe, supported, and valued within our school community. Our safeguarding practices are in line with all statutory guidance issued by the DfE and guided by the Lincolnshire Safeguarding Board.

We believe that safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. All staff, governors, and volunteers are trained to identify and respond to concerns, and we maintain a culture of vigilance and openness. Our Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and Deputy DSLs are fully trained and accessible to ensure swift and effective responses to any safeguarding issues.

Our approach to safeguarding is deeply rooted in our school values:

  • Kindness – We foster a nurturing environment where every child is treated with compassion and care. We encourage students to look out for one another and to speak up if they or someone else needs help.
  • Respect – We promote a culture of mutual respect where diversity is celebrated, and every individual’s rights are upheld. Respect is central to how we interact with each other and how we protect the dignity and safety of all.
  • Ambition – We are ambitious for our students’ futures, and that includes their right to grow and thrive in a safe and supportive environment. Safeguarding is essential to enabling every child to reach their full potential.

We work in close partnership with parents, carers, external agencies, and the wider community to ensure a coordinated and effective safeguarding response. Our policies and procedures are regularly reviewed and updated in line with national and local guidance.
