Options & Pathways
IT'S YOUR CHOICE
Earlier in the academic year we held a careers fair for students in Years 8- 12. Further Education, Higher Education, Armed Forces and local businesses were represented, giving students information about their options after Year 11 or 13. This is useful for younger students considering their subject pathways and older students thinking about their career/ further education goals.
Throughout the year we have and will provide students with encounters of both Further and Higher Education establishments as well as introduce them to apprenticeship opportunities and external careers fairs in Years 10-13. Some of these opportunities are fairs through Unifrog online which students sign up to and access after school.
Please take a look at these links about all things careers and university related and encourage your child to sign up!

The choices Post 16 are:
- Continuing to study at a Sixth Form - Btec and A Level Options
- Continuing to study at a College of Further Education
- Applying for an Apprenticeship – or a similar work based learning programme
- Applying for a position within the Forces
- Entering the labour market - although some form of continued training must be attached to the offer of employment to comply with the raising of the participation age
- T- Levels (Technical qualifications), delivered primarily by the Further Education Colleges. A T-Level is equivalent to three A-Levels - https://www.tlevels.gov.uk/
In September 2026, the Inspire Education Group (Peterborough and Stamford Colleges) will be attending school to present to Year 11 parents and students. The information evening will explain the different Post 16 Options and qualifications. More details to follow in the Summer term.
All students can find a wide range of careers-related resources via the careers tutor sessions, notice boards, Unifrog and UCAS.

Year 11 and Sixth Form students will be provided with an opportunity to attend a careers meeting, to discuss their options and ideas. This will be with a professionally qualified L6/7 careers adviser.
Students with additional needs will continue to be supported by our in-house team and will also have support from our external partners.
