Year 6 into 7 Transition

I understand that starting secondary school is a huge change for our students, and everyone at the school is dedicated to making the transition as smooth, exciting, and enjoyable as possible.

The move from primary school to secondary school is a huge change for both children and their parents. We recognise that to have a smooth and successful start to Year 7 it is key to provide you with all the information you need. Please take some time to explore our Year 6 - Year 7 transition information, and remember we have a dedicated transition team here to help you with any further queries.

We are working closely with all primary schools to ensure the transition from primary to secondary school is as smooth as possible. We firmly believe that by offering an early induction day, this will allow students to be less apprehensive about starting the next phase of their educational journey.

Upcoming events:

• Friday 06 March 2026: Year 6 Induction ‘STEAM Day’ - Year 6 students who have The Deepings School as their chosen school, or who have been allocated the school on offer day, are invited to join us for a transition day of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Maths) activities. The day will commence at 9.15am and finish at 2:15pm.
• Please use this link to book your space: STEAM Transition Day 2026 – Fill in form  Please note that this form will open on Monday 02 March 2026 at 09:00am and close on Thursday 05 March at 10am.  Your child must be booked on to be able to attend.  We are not able to accept bookings after this time due to the arrangements that need to be made ahead of Friday.

• Later in the summer term:
• Friday 26 June 2026: Year 6 Induction Day for pupils with additional needs
• Monday 29 June 2026: Year 6 Induction Day
• Tuesday 30 June 2026: Year 6 Induction Day

Bus Pass Information

Replacement bus passes can be ordered via the LCC website and there is currently a £5.00 charge for any that have been damaged, lost or stolen. The students TRA number will be needed when ordering a pass:
