Year 8 Cricket Deeping V Bourne Grammar School (BGS) – 23/4/15
Deeping 63 – 7 (16 overs) BGS 65 – 3 (9 overs)
The first cricket fixture of the year took place on a glorious sunny afternoon at Deeping School. Deeping were put into bat and were immediately under pressure from some quick, controlled Bourne bowling.
Wickets fell at regular intervals, however some mean resistance from Bradley Clark (28no) and Ben Pateman (21no) set a reasonable total to try and defend. Deeping opened their bowling with Dan Malcolmson (3-17-2) whose line and length caused problems for the opening batsman and was rewarded with a wicket in his first over.
However, the other BGS opening batsman was in fine form and looked solid finding the boundary on regular occasions. The BGS team hit the winning runs with 6 overs to spare.

Year 11 Football Deeping V Jack Hunt
Semi Final Cup Game
0 – 0 (lost 2 – 4 on penalties)
The year 11 squad travelled to Jack Hunt to play the semi-final cup game. The match was a close encounter throughout, both teams displaying some good football however, neither team could break the deadlock. There were not more than five shots from both teams on the opposing goal.
At end of 90 minutes and extra time the score was still 0 – 0. Penalties would decide it.
Unfortunately, Jack Hunt won the penalty shoot-out 4-2 and progressed to the finals. A big well done to all the students in the team. A harsh way to go out but a good experience for them all. A good season lads – well done!
