Faraday Challenge Day

On Monday, Year 8 students from Stamford Welland Academy joined us for an exciting and creative Science and Technology competition, led by an expert from the Institute of Engineering and Technology.

The students rose to the challenge of inventing solutions for the future of the aeronautical industry: a world of vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft and goods delivery by drone.

Working in teams with designated roles the students develop their skills in creativity, economics, problem solving and engineering to develop and build prototype devices. The finished projects were then presented to the judge, teachers and students.

The winning team from the Deepings School were Aimee Berry, Abigail Schofield, Erick Buia, Eddie Maddison, Ethan Mann and Fynnley Parkhill, who each received Amazon gift vouchers and a trophy.
