Christmas afternoon tea for our local senior citizens

Back to News

During December we invited 50 local senior citizens to a lovely Christmas afternoon tea, provided by the school's excellent catering team.

Guests were greeted and served by some of our superb Year 8 Ambassadors and Sixth Form students who helped the event run smoothly throughout the afternoon.

A very talented group of musicians and singers provided a range of Christmas songs and were very much appreciated by our visitors.

The wonderful food tech team and their students also made a selection of cakes, mince pies and gingerbread biscuits to give away in the free raffle and the afternoon finished with the traditional game of Bingo, professionally ‘called’ by Sixth Form student Ben Pateman.

Mrs Taylor, who coordinated the activities said: “It was lovely to see some familiar faces and to welcome some new senior citizens to our school to enjoy the start of our Christmas festivities. The event also provided an opportunity for Headteacher Richard Lord to chat with the local residents and for us to wish everyone a very happy Christmas and New Year. Thank you to all students and staff who helped make the event such a success”
