Year 9 Football V’s City of Peterborough Academy

On a wet evening at the Deeping School, the year 9 team hosted a Peterborough Cup fixture against the City of Peterborough Academy.

After the whistle blew Deeping took an early lead through Sam Bayley and then James Russell added another making it 2-0 at the break.  The weather took a turn for the worse and the rain started to pour down.  However, this was no distraction to the team as they ploughed on through the downpour and put in a mature performance.

The second half continued just like the first.  More goals from Sam Bayley (3), George Cushen (2) and Jamie Johnstone (1).  The game ended in a 6-0 victory. Well done, boys!

Year 9 Football V’s Kings School Peterborough

The second game in a week for the year 9 football team, this time they came up against a strong Kings side. The game started badly for Deeping, a poor first half display saw us 3-0 down by half time; a huge uphill task for the second half.

The second half display needed to be better and indeed it was. Deeping played with a lot more confidence and aggression, and went on to claw back three goals giving the visitors a nervy second half to deal with.  However, the attacking style of football left a lot of gaps at the back which were exploited by the Kings attackers and they went on to win the game 6-3. Another good performance

Second half:

Deeping had the advantage of six goals going into the second half.  Once again Deeping started strong and soon scored a further two goals within 2 minutes. With Peterborough Academy gaining more possession, Jamie Allen (CB) came out with a screamer to make it eight.  Eventually, towards the end of the game with the score line increasing to nine, Oliver Tooth ended the game with a final goal making the end score 10-0 to Deeping. A great team performance – well done boys!

U15 Girls Football V’s Bourne Academy

The year 10 girls won an excellent 5-0 against the year 11 girls from Bourne Academy. An opening goal scored by Evie Porch, followed by another three later on in the game! A superb individual performance from Evie!

In the second half, Alice Teigh totalled the goals scored to five with some great team play before hitting the back of the net.

With some brilliant determination throughout the game, it was a well deserved win.
