Student Support Page
Wow, what an exciting time lays ahead of you. We are living in a really strange time at the moment, but I would like to let you know that everyone at The Deepings School is really excited about welcoming you to your school. I don't mean just the teachers, I mean everyone, the lunchtime staff, the cleaners, the teaching assistants and all other support staff are really looking forward to meeting you in the autumn term.
For us it is a really exciting time of the year and, even though we are always a little bit nervous because we want to make sure that we do a great job, we cannot wait to get started. It probably seems a little strange that teachers get a bit nervous at the start of a new year, but we do, especially those who are joining our school at the same time as you.
We think you and your parents made an awesome decision in choosing The Deepings School. We believe we can really help you achieve amazing things. We want to help you become brilliant, even more brilliant than you already are.
Our aim is to help you grow into well-rounded young people, equipped with the knowledge and skills they need to lead happy, meaningful lives within society. We have so many fantastic teachers to help inspire you on your journey through our school, we cant wait for you to meet them.
I know that you will have hundreds of questions. You may be feeling lots of different emotions some that make you excited and some that make you feel a little bit worried. Please rest assured this is all normal, but also let me assure you we will do lots of things over the next few weeks and months to help reduce the worries and increase the excitement for you.
Please don't be afraid to ask us lots of questions, we don't want you to feel like you are alone in all of this. Lots of others will have the same questions and the same worries. Whilst I can't promise that it will be easy, I do believe that you will really enjoying being at our school. I know it may seem a little scary at the moment as it will be different to primary school, but it is going to be great.
I have put some website links below. These videos will help you in your move from Year 6 to Year 7. They are really good to watch with your parents/ guardians.
