Ofsted Reports

February 2020

We would like to thank those parents and carers who contacted the school both before and during the inspection to share their kind words and positive feedback about their experience of The Deepings School.  We would also like to thank anybody who completed the online surveys.

Following last summer’s improvements in examination results, we are delighted that the Quality of Education at The Deepings School has now formally been graded as good.  Similarly, the ambition of staff for our students has been recognised and this has resulted in judgement for Leadership and Management also improving to good.  We are, therefore, very heartened by the comments of the inspection team who have recognised the strides that we continue to make as a school.

Clearly, we are disappointed that the overall judgement has not improved and recognise that there is still work to do.  However, we are all fully committed to enhancing the learning experience of all our students.

I would like to emphasise that our staff at The Deepings School have worked tirelessly to secure the improved judgements from the inspection team, frequently going the extra mile to support our learners.  Of course, we will take a great amount of pride from the positive comments cited but also continue to address any areas for improvement highlighted in the report.

I would also like to thank our students, parents, staff, governors and the wider Deepings community for the way in which they have embraced the many changes that have been implemented since the previous inspection. We look forward to your continued support this year and beyond, as we do our utmost to provide the best education possible at The Deepings School.

Yours sincerely

Richard Lord

Head Teacher
